The easiest child custody cases are those in which both partners agree on the final determination by the judge. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are situations in which one partner feels that he or she got the short end of the stick.
Sometimes, it is hard for people to understand the court system and this is what is going on right now in Oklahoma. A mother is currently fighting to regain custody of her daughter after a judge sent the girl to live with a convicted sex offender.
An Oklahoma judge sent the six-year-old girl back to California to live with her father, a convicted sex offender. Her mother continues to fight, holding a car wash with the hope of raising enough money to take the case back to court.
The father was previously convicted of raping his other daughter when she was six years old. When the man was finally released from jail, he began to fight for custody of his daughter and eventually came out on top.
At this time, the girl’s mother is limited to having contact with the girl except for a 30 minute Skype conversation every Sunday.
The girl’s father claims he was wrongfully convicted of rape and should have never been sent to jail. He contends he has never harmed a child. The family is doing its best to bring the girl back home in the near future.
Although this child custody case is more complicated than many, if you find yourself wrapped up in a battle with your ex partner it is time to contact an experienced and knowledgeable attorney. This will give you the power you need to win in court, claiming custody of your child.
